“The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad.” – Psalm 126:3
Fall is always a busy season, but this year it’s been full of evidence that the Lord is at work. We’ve seen His hand guiding us every step of the way, and our goal has been to respond faithfully to where He’s moving. At the same time, we’re learning not to live reactively but intentionally and focus our efforts on His mission.
This past month, we celebrated a baptism, rejoiced over salvations, and have more baptisms scheduled in the coming months. Our attendance has grown significantly, and we’ve had to keep setting out more chairs. What a good problem to have! We also welcomed new covenant members into our fellowship, and it’s clear that God is continuing to build His church.
Another highlight came when a member sensed the Lord’s prompting to begin a prayer ministry. Starting this month, we’ll gather weekly for corporate prayer which is a key step in living out one of our core values:
Stay rooted in Scripture and prayer (Philippians 2:5–11).
We believe that prayer doesn’t just prepare us for the work; prayer is the work. I’m eager to see how God deepens our dependence on Him as a praying people.
We also hosted Reach Mount Pleasant Day, where 37 people participated in evangelism training held at The Vine and led by Lane Prairie Baptist Church. Afterward, teams went out into the community, knocking on 22 doors and sharing the gospel 16 times. It was an incredible day that equipped and encouraged our people to share their faith with confidence in their neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, or the marketplace.
Our Spanish ministry continues to grow as well. The baptism we celebrated this month came from that ministry, and we’re praising God for how He’s using it to reach new families in our city.
On Halloween night, we partnered with Outpost Church to engage our community with the gospel. It was an incredible example of churches working together for the sake of Christ’s name. We’re thankful for the spirit of unity and cooperation among local believers.
We also have reason to celebrate God’s provision. For the second time since launching, our giving met budget right as one of our air conditioners went out! Every dollar given above budget will now go directly toward mission and outreach, including our upcoming “Meat the Need” event on November 15. Our goal is to feed 100 families and share the gospel 100 times.
As we look ahead to the busy holiday season, please continue to pray for us—
- as we raise up leaders,
- as we strengthen partnerships in our city, and
- as we make disciples who make disciples.
We are grateful for your prayers, generosity, and encouragement. The Lord truly is moving at The Vine, and it’s a joy to be part of His work in Mount Pleasant.
Grace & peace,
TW
